Brandi’s path to graphic design wasn’t traditional—and that’s exactly what sets her work apart. With a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University and an M.A. in Publication Design from the University of Baltimore, she blends a strong foundation in content development with refined creative and technical design skills to craft cohesive, visually compelling brand identities.

After building her career in communications and creative roles, Brandi stepped away from the traditional path and launched Mebane Design Studio in 2018. Since then, the studio has become a trusted creative partner to organizations like Delta Air Lines (LaGuardia Terminal team branding), The Nielsen Company (African American Trends Report toolkit), Ascend at the Aspen Institute (brand refresh), and NewSchools Venture Fund (design partner). Brandi and her team have also collaborated with the NFL, Revlon, Chicago Public Schools, Baltimore City Public Schools, Healthcare Access Maryland, Kid Museum, and Baltimore Homecoming, among others.

Over the past seven years, Mebane Design Studio has helped more than 75 businesses generate income, amplify their talents and services, and build opportunities within their communities—always rooted in design that’s both human-centered and impactful.

BRANDI MEBANE - ARTIST BIO
My design aesthetic is largely inspired by nature and travel, but my work is fueled by the gratification I receive from supporting small business owners in their entrepreneurial pursuits. From brainstorming to the final presentation, each part of the design process is an opportunity to create, take risks, and express emotions and messages. I believe everyone deserves to be seen and my work—my commitment to help others’ visions come to fruition—is a true passion. Visual representation of a brand, idea, or message is often the key to not only having an impact on others, but leaving a mark on the world. Through my multi-pronged creative process, I design every choice of color, typeface, shape, and image to reference a point in time, spark an emotion, or evoke a response.
