Mebane Design Studio is a Baltimore-based design studio focused on providing thoughtful design solutions to small businesses and organizations providing a voice to the traditionally underserved. We are seeking a vibrant, creative Freelance Designer (contract position).

Designer Duties and Responsibilities

Create and design print and digital materials
Able to manipulate mockup templates to display client work or merchandise design
Adhere to different organizations' brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline
Manage client projects 1-on-1
Experience with publication design
Create custom vectors or artwork
Capable of making edits to predesigned documents and templates
Retouch and manipulate images
Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
Experience building website wireframes
Collaborate with the Owner/Creative Director to develop design concepts
Receive feedback from the Creative Director and make necessary changes
Assemble final presentation material for printing as needed

Requirements

Graphic Design major preferred
Special attention to detail
Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Apple/iOS, Google Suite
Squarespace experience desired (but not mandatory)
Illustration abilities preferred
Strong creative and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills: both oral and written
Quick Learner and Efficient
Compelling portfolio of graphic design work
Able to quickly turn around design concepts
Capable of working in a high pace agency environment
Must be flexible, detail oriented, good at multitasking, a self-starter and an independent worker. You must hold trust and privacy in top regard.
